I have worked as a SpLD Dyslexia Assessor and 1:1 specialist teacher since 2007. During that time I also held the role of SENCO at Sands school, Ashburton for 4 years 2016-2021.
SEN Assessment and or 1:1 support if you require further information and would like to discuss your child's needs please email me directly to arrange a zoom/call.
My guiding purpose has always been to connect with young people, to help them understand their own unique learning profile and to be able to communicate their needs out into the world around them; to work with their strengths and grow into themselves wholly- to find their flow.
Over the years I have trained in complementary areas to my SEN work; notably Thrive, TeenYoga and Mindfulness. This has become essential in being able to have a more holistic picture of the neurodevelopment of the teenage brain and its consequent needs in the social/educational space. Both practices inform my intervention work and offer a toolkit for self-awareness, self-care and self-development in young people.
If students do not understand how to self-manage and self-regulate themselves throughout their learning experiences, they cannot access the learning brain. Body and breath work are essential aspects of all sound and grounding mental/health practices.
TeenYoga and Mindfulness sessions are currently private 1:1 or in private groups of Teenagers. Please email to arrange a zoom/call if you are interested in booking or discussing group options.
I also offer creative writing sessions (and can combine with Yoga). As a writer/performer I have long understood the liberating power of creative writing as a creative practice and also a therapeutic act.
Creative writing sessions are currently 1:1 please email to book a phone/zoom chat.
